Newlands Valley 26-28 Feb

Post by Adam »

Hello Everybody

Booking for the Newlands Valley meet is official open. 16 spaces, £9per night. Here is what the Carlisle MC have to say about their hut.

Beautifully situated in the remote Newlands Valley, yet thirty minutes drive from Keswick, at O.S. Grid Ref. NY 229 177. Reached by driving or walking the last mile along an unsurfaced track, the hut sleeps 16 and has gas cookers and lighting. One of the most attractive features is the coke pot-bellied stove. Cold water supply is straight from the fells above the hut & needs to be treated before drinking, this also supplies a flushing toilet. Facilities are both basic and appreciated by those wishing to get away from it all.

So there we have it, a flushing toilet. Sign up, sign up.

I wish I could come, if only for the flushing toilet, that sounds ace. Alas I can't make it though. Have fun everyone, it's a superb location.

Please add me also.

PS it's not just any flushing toilet, it's one outside flushing toilet. ;)

Please sign me up for food as well.

BTW, Roland's going so if there is a problem with the water supply Roland will fix it. Last time we were here he ran up the hill and unblocked the supply pipe.
BTW, whover gets there first take care in lighting the pot-bellied stove. Last time we were here Maggie & I managed to fill the hut with smoke.

The key has been sent to me so I'll bring it to the wall/pub on Thursday for whoever will get there first.

The note with the key says you need to bring:

Washing up liquid
Tea towels
Scourers
Toilet Roll
Matches, firelighters, sticks to start the fire (coke is provided).

Enjoy all, I love this hut!

Malcolm and I are planning to drive to Newlands Valley on Friday Morning. I think we will be there before Huw.
