Highmoss, 9-11 dec

Post by Adam »

Hello

The next meet will be at Highmoss in Seathwaite, on the 9-11 Dec. This is the southern Seathwaite, west of The Old Man Of Coniston.

There is plenty of opportunity for walking and biking from the hut, on the craggy hills in the area. For a something a bit more adventurous it would be worth consulting the Lake District scrambling books in the library (http://www.mercianmc.org.uk/library/). (Why not down load the spreadsheet and see whats there).

This is an out of the way area of the Lakes so should be free of the typical tea shop bimblers that populate the district on a weekend. For your thirst quenching needs there is a pub just down the road from the hut.

Currently the price is unknown (assume about £10), I will confirm soon. 18 spaces.

Cheers
Adam

I was hoping to come to this one but unavoidable family commitments have gotten in the way :(

We have an event on Saturday that prevents us from going.

Dear Adam,

This meet is attracting little interest from members. Is it OK if I invite some of my friends to the weekend?

Hi Roland, you are right, and I think is fine for you to invite some of your friends - go for it.

Hello

I have just heard from the hut sec. The price is £15 per night, which is a bit steep. But we only have to pay for the spaces we use, so the club wont loose out. The key will be with Vic and Stew shortly, so can be picked up on thursday.

Geoff, I know you want the key from me before Thursday. My work postcode is B37 7WY which is right near the M42/Birmingham Airport so you can grab it from me there any time during the working day if you like, it's much closer to you then my house in Sutton; I'll let you know when it has arrived in the post.

Dear Stewart,

I am wondering if I may get to the hut before Geoff. I aim to be there about 3 pm on Friday.

I have asked 5 different friends if they would like to go to the hut. None could be there.

Hi Roland, I'll happily give the key to whomever will be there first. i'll be at the pub tomorrow night and will have the key if Geoff hasn't already collected it from me in the next 36 hours. If no one collects the key from me at the pub no one will be able to get into the hut as I'm not attending the meet.
