Caseg Fraith, Ogwen - 20-22 Jan

Post by Adam »

Evening Mercians

The first meet of 2017 is upon us. Cunningly, its a half a mile up the road from the meet 2 months ago (sack the meet sec). But since Ogwen is the best bit of wales that's a good thing. The hut is Caseg Fraith next to Gwern Gof Isaf on the OS map (601685). There is no end of walking and climbing straight from the front door. If we are lucky, there might even be some snow.

There is 15 spaces at £10 per night. Parking spaces are limited at 5 on site, with a possible 3 more, or 1 mile down the road at the foot of tryfan.

Cheers
Adam

Sign me up please Adam and, as I've not cooked on a meet yet, I'm happy to volunteer for this one.

Hello
I'm new to the MMC. I would like to come on the meet please and looking forward to getting to know you all. :)
I live in Sutton Coldfield near Walmley village just off each Eachelhurst road, is there anyone I could get a lift with please?

Also I am not sure what I will need to bring in terms of food? Do we all bring our own food only or do we bring in something for everyone?

Thank you

Amandeep

Hi Amandeep, check out this link to the web page which will tell you most things you'll need to know.

http://www.mercianmc.org.uk/meets/1st-meet/

Certainly bring food for your breakfast on saturday and sunday and a packed lunch for both days too. The evening meal on saturday is a communally cooked meal. A member usually volunteers and it looks like Naomi has kindly offered this time round.

Are you aware of the chairman's challenge? If not I'd suggest you grab the latest copy of The Faff and look at the last 2 pages where the points system works; you should be able to net some points on this meet.

Enjoy the meet. Due to work commitments I can't make this one I'm afraid : (

Stew.

Just to say that with at least one vegetarian on the meet I'll make a sweet potato chilli.

Sounds yum! Sign me up too please. I can make some pudding if there are no other volunteers.

Amandeep unfortunately I am a non-driver so I can't offer you a lift, but I look forward to meeting you next week! Feel free to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Exciting forecast Vicky :)

Adam, what's the access arrangements to the hut? I see from their website that there is also another booking. However, with such a compact Mercian contingent that won't be a problem.

Hello

The other group cant be that big either, as they only have one parking ticket.

The Key code and directions etc have just been emailed to Stu, Vijay, Naomi.
Vicky, Amandeep, can you email me on meets@mercianmc.org.uk if you want the email as i do not have your address.
