High House,Seathwaite (north), Borrowdale. 10-12/2/17

Post by Adam »

Hello Mercians

The next meet is at High House in Borrowdale. This is a nice hut ideally located for access to the higher mountains in the Lake District. Great Gable is 3km, and Scarfell Pike a 5km walk from the hut. If (winter) conditions are in Great End is just over an hour away for some ice climbing. If (spring) conditions are in you could bag some Chairmans Challange points, with an alpine start and an accent of Needle Ridge. Napes Needle would also be worth a go, since its there. The black sail mountain bike route goes past the front door. The possibilities are endless.

The last time the club stayed here we had some outstanding winter conditions, all bathed in blazing sunshine. The A team took the opportunity to do some ice climbing on Great End. While the B team wrote a strongly worded letter to the Faff, complaining about how good the A team are. Not this year, Fabien will be attending and making the step up to the A team. He will then follow it up with a Faff article about how awesome it is to be in the A team.

Price is £10/night. 26 beds available. Sign up quick, we all know those 26 beds will be gone in next to no time.

Please add my name to the list.
I will arrive on Friday at the hut at about 3pm. Could I have the hut key?
