Hello Mercians

The next meet is at Low Hall Garth in Little Langdale. This is a quaint little hut hidden up a track away from the Lake District tourist hordes.

There is plenty to do in the area. Tick some classic rock on Gimmer Crag, Do the Langdale pub crawl, 8? pubs in a loop round Langdale. Walk the ridges of Tilberthwaite fells.

8 spaces at £11 per night. (More might be available, not confirmed).

Evening

If you want to go on the meet please sign up by Monday evening. I can then get in touch with the hut sec to see if the extra 4 beds are still available.

Geoff asked me to put him and some others down for the meet, when we were at High House as they would be on holiday when the meet was opened. I asked him to email how many spaces he wanted, but he did not send one. I have asked him to confirm one way or another, but I dont know when they are back.

Does anyone else know any more about this?

Adam,

Put me down for this meet please. However I can't arrive until Saturday morning and as I am currently prone to random coughing fits I will not sleep in the dormitory and keep everyone else awake. I will either sleep downstairs or in the car. I would like to use the hut and join in for the meal. I am happy to pay hut fees regardless of wwhere I sleep.

See everyone on Thursday evening or on the Meet

Alan

PS Put me down for the meal please.

Geoff, Duncan, Murray and I are all back from Madeira after celebrating yet another BIG birthday.

I am sorry about the bed blocking this is what happens when you have older members in the club. In their defence they have paid into the system for many decades and you must forgive them for not keeping up with the advances in communications. In 30 to 40 years time you may still be using email, Twitter and WhatsApp to communicate and not a PAN-WC (Pulse Activated Nanotechnology Wristband Communicator) :!:

I have phoned Duncan and I have sent smoke signals to Lynn’s mobile asking them to contact Adam Monday morning.

Adam has a difficult job balancing beds and demand too many beds and these have to be paid for from your membership fees too few beds and people end up sleeping in the corridors. I am told that the waiting time is never more than 48 hours so if you have not got a bed you will have to join sick Alan on the floor.

If you do find Geoff and Duncan in their beds they have told me that you should ignore the “Nil by mouth” sign and apply plenty of alcohol :drinkers:

Nurse Mike

If you need this in Braille or larger print please contact the secretary.

Everyone who signed up has a place now. There is one space left, just in case.
