Easter Meet - Black Rock Cottage Glen Coe - 13-17 April

Post by Adam »

Hello Mercians

For Easter this year we will be staying in Black Rock Cottage, on the road to the Glen Coe ski resort. We have the hut from Thursday 13th to Monday 17th.

There is plenty to do in the area. Climb the three classic rock routes on Buachaille Etive Mor, traverse the Aonach Eagach ridge, mountain bike over the Devels Stair Case to Kinlochleven, scramble Tower Ridge to the summit of Ben Nevis.

The Kings House Hotel is a 2km stroll, where they will supply you with nice refreshing beer after a day in the hills.

Price is £11 per night. 10 spaces available.

Sign me up please for the Friday to the Monday. I am happy to camp next to the hut like I did two years ago if we need extra space. Looking forward to seeing everybody!

Sign me up please Adam! I will also volunteer to cook one of the evenings.

If anyone can spare me a lift up from Brum it would be much appreciated. I have the Thursday off so can leave any time. Don't need a lift back as I am going to stick around in Scotland for a bit.

I'm heading up Tues after work, coming back either Monday or Tuesday, not sure yet.

If that fits anyone's itinerary you are welcome to a lift

Sign me up please. I can probably take Thursday off too. As someone who has driven the last 4 times we've been north of the border I'd be keen to lift share as a passenger if anyone has an itinerary that fits mine.

Hello Peeps

Julie, Anta and myself are staying an extra couple of nights (Mon,Tues) in the hut after the meet. If anyone else is interested in staying, can you let me know asap as the hut warden needs to know numbers.

Is there a chance I could get a lift up with someone as I can get a lift back with Julie.

I will also volunteer to cook one night, the classic pasta-bol. Think spag-bol, without the morons choice of spaghetti. Please put me down for any other food.

Cheers

Me and Jane are leaving late on Thursday and stopping half way on the way up.
We are then staying in Scotland for the rest of the week. So unfortunately we cannot offer a lift.

I can however offer to make vege shepherds pie plus a pudding of some kind, yet to be decided.

Can also bring a vege bol mix for me and Matt to go with Adams pasta.

We'll have any of the other food.

I'll make something veggie friendly tbc. Promise it will be delicious. Did any Thursday crew decide to drive up in the end? I would offer, however I don't have a drivers licence or a car. Slight stumbling block. I might investigate trains and travel in style either Wednesday night or early doors on Thursday if lifts are tricky to co-ordinate.
