Annual Dinner, Froggatt - 20-22 Oct

Post by Adam »

Hello Mercians

The nights are drawing in, the mercury is falling as fast as the rain, and the dreaded christmas is just around the corner. Never fear the Mercian Mountaineering Club is here, to brighten up you life. How will this be done? By eating food and drinking beer in a pub, of course. Thats right its annual dinner time.

This year we will be staying at Fallcliffe cottage between Hathersage and Grindleford. With dinner at the Grouse Inn near Froggatt. The table is booked for 15-20 people, arrive at 7:30pm eat at 8:30pm. The standard menu and specials are all available. Order on the night, pay on the night. So please bring some cash and small notes/coins to make the finance easy to sort out at the end please.

The hut price is £10pppn. 16 spaces.

Information on the food will follow shortly.

Cheers
Adam

I've looked at the map and it's a pleasant 2.5 km stroll to the pub from the hut, firstly on a minor road, and then on footpaths.

Me please if there's space (but I don't want to take a place from someone who's been a member for ages or anything, so feel free to put me on the reserve list in case there are spare spots).

I would like to go if I can stay in the campervan in the pub car park or at the hut.

Is this the pub https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restauran ... gland.html ?

Yes Mike, that's the pub. I should also say that there are more spaces available for the actual meal than there are beds in the hut. So if folk want to find a local camp site for tents then go for it, there's room at the pub for about 15 or 20 people. I've updated the description at the top of this thread to include details on the meal, and to create a separate list for hut and pub - hope you don't mind Adam.
