Braedownie, Glen Clova, Cairngorm - 29 Mar-2 Apr

Post by Adam »

Hello Mercians

The Easter meet this year is at the brand spanking new (well, 11 months old) Braedownine in Glen Clova. It is located in the south east corner of the park.

Whats there? That's a good question. If we are lucky there might be a bit of snow left in the north facing corries. If not there is trad climbing on the sunny south facing crags. There's plenty of summits surrounding the valley, no doubt Munros, Corbets, Cobblers, Mac Doos or some such thing. Paths radiate into the adjacent valleys, if you want to see whats over the hill. Plenty to do, I think you'll agree.

16 spaces, £11 per night.

Remember to bring a roll mat/air bed with you.

Cheers
Adam

Just floating the idea of extra days, anyone interested?

to all those budding chefs...if you are offering to cook I will eat your food. Please sign me up for all meals. I have the largest pot so will bring that to the meet. I think Beth has the other one.

Yeah I have the other big pot and will bring it along.

I am happy to cook for everyone on Friday night but yet to decide what...I will let you know.

Huw and I are already planning to head up on Wednesday and might stay at the hut if its available, or if not, maybe a hostel or something en route. Adam is the hut booked from the Thursday?

Sign me up for all food please.

The hut is booked from Thursday 29 March. If anybody wants to stay extra nights can you put it on the forum by Monday 19. If 5 or more people want to stay on any particular night I will organize with the hut sec. If it is less than 5, people will have to make their own arrangements.

I could be tempted for an extra night if others are. Thursday 29th is my birthday so it would be nice to spend it up a mountain (or in the pub) rather than in the car.

I am also happy to cook one evening - can do easter sunday if there are no other takers.
