Hello Mercians

I hope we have all being getting out while the sun is here. If you haven't here is your chance.

We will be camping at Philpin Farm near Ingleton, in the Yorkshire Dales. The club last went here a couple of years ago and had a smashing day climbing on Twistleton Scar (theres a nice HVS flake traverse up there). But there is plenty more to do in the area.

Hike - the yorkshire 3 peaks
Bike - around the place
Climb - the classic rock route on Pen-y-Ghent

£7 pppn according to facebook
£8 pppn according to pitchup

You can book on pitchup, or just turn up, the choice is yours.

David and I are planning on coming.

I'm sorry Lou but my knee is unlikely to let me walk that far (or the rest of my body for that matter), so We'll climb.

I'm keen for potential 3 peaks. I also may have the Monday and Tuesday off work as well as the Friday if anyone can go early/stay longer :)

Erm, according to Pitch up, there is no availability left this weekend. Has anyone else actually booked?

We're going to contact them directly to double check....

Update 24/7: this campsite is fully booked. We haven't booked and so will have to consider our options. According to the campsite there is a big event going on in Ingleton this weekend.

Sarah, did you try Moorgarth campsite? It's very basic (it has toilets/showers but not much else - what more do you need?). The biggest downside is that it's next to the A65.

The one that you suggested is quite a way from the climbing.

Oh no! Huw and I are thinking of coming but haven't booked either, didn't anticipate needing to because it's not a bank holiday. I would be happy with a basic campsite, even one without showers because I will go for a dip in the river!

Hello Everyone

Just had a quick look and there is a campsite in Horton In Ribblesdale. Just spoken to the owner, its £5 night (inc. showers) they have space but we have to book in advance. I recomend we all get on it asap.
