Oh er that did go fast! I can get in touch with the hut warden and see if they have any extra beds. If not then local YHA or campsite may be worth investigating.

How about camping on the grounds?
I'm happy to sleep in my tent!

The YHA Patterdale currently has availability for that weekend (but is sold out for this weekend coming so must be popular). Bed in s dorm £40 for the two nights. Or a 4 person room for £118 the two nights....

Jues/adam/Joel we could make a 4? Any thoughts?

Vicky - let us know as soon as you can then we can follow up with YHA if needed.

Hello Team. Good news on the extra spaces. They say we can use the members room. Though that does come with the condition that if a full gang of members show up (unlikely) we would be relegated to the sofa. Full advice as follows:

I am not really allowed to let a group book more than 12 places because the small room has to be kept available for our own members use at any time.
However, as it is extremely unlikely that more than one or two Cleveland Club members (if any) would turn up that weekend, I will allow your Club to use the extra 3 places you ask for - but at your own discretion. It would mean that, if by chance any Cleveland members did happen to appear, those from the Mercian using the small room may possibly have to go downstairs and use the 2 couches and some floor place!

Most of our members would be quite happy to share the small room though they should be asked first.

Personally I would have no issue kipping on the sofa if it came down to it. I might chuck a sleeping mat in my bag just in case, but unlikely it would be needed.

After my second eye operation 8 days ago. I feel a bit delicate and must take is easy ( I have been given strict instructions to avoid strenuous exercise).
I am booked into a hotel in Patterdale for Friday and Saturday night. I would like to come to the hut and be sociable on Saturday evening and I am willing to pay a day fee if necessary.

Its all been very quiet on the food front and as I haven’t cooked a main meal yet, i will volunteer my services!

I am happy to bring a slow cooked beef bolognaise and cook some pasta, garlic bread and a bit of salad.

I need to do this on wednesday so can i have numbers before then please?

There will be the usual flapjack for post/during walk snacking!

Joe

Joe that sounds delicious! I'm in.

Roland you are more than welcome to join us at the hut for socialising. I don't think there's any need for a day fee :D
