Post by Mike Hogg »

SNOOKER at Moorpool Snooker Club, Harborne, B17 9DY

If you are interested please sign up on the forum or contact me if we have at least 6 people I will organise this on a Tuesday evening in March. The club has 3 full size tables.

We would play for 2 – 3 hours. Cost approx £5 per person.

Hi Steve

This is only a small club and we would be their guests (this will the first time they have let a group of non members use the club). We may not be able to use all 3 tables if other members are present. Tuesday night tends to be their quietest night.

Interested so far-

This is on please let me know if you can come and we will meet at the club 7.30pm on Tuesday 26th March. If you have your own cue please bring it along. There are cues at the club you can borrow. I need a minimum of 5 people to keep the cost at £5 each.

Can I come too?
By the way, do people know how big a full-size snooker table is? It's nothing like your pool table!

Hi Mike,

I'm speaking on Sascha's behalf here, but he can't make Tuesday unfortunately.

To go I will have to move my German lesson (which wasn't booked when I expressed interest), so will have to let you know.

In answer to Malcolm's question - yes we have played on full size tables before and I have even beaten Sascha twice!!!!! Lol, it did help that he potted the white several times :-) I think my max break is about 8, Sascha's is about 15. Not quite world championship standard yet ;-)

I think I may be safe if I offered a prize for the first 141 break!

I enjoyed the night. The hall was nice and warm and had plenty of character having been built by GKN in the 1920's as a snooker hall for the Moorpool Estate.

5 people attended and we played for about 2 hours. Some of us managed 3 games some only 2. We could only use 2 tables since some members were there.

There were no 141 breaks!

I think I will organise this again but restrict it to just 6 people.
