Nah, just joking. I'm gambling that Bertha will not track anywhere near Wales, hope so because I want to activate Cader!
Will report on the campsite next week.

Er, was it something I said, guys?
Anyway, Pauline and I will definately go, even though it looks like we will be the only ones there!
Cheers

Re: NEXT MEET - Southern Snowdonia, 9th-10th August
Better late than never! Pauline and I will attend, depending on the weather forcast and if the site accepts dogs.
By the way, There is good rock climbing on Cader (Cyfrwy) and Bird Rock, also some minor crags in the Rhinogs, and for the masochists Cwm Cowarch isn't too far away!

Dolgellau Meet
Do we have a location for the next meet yet? Only 5 days to go and I need to check whether they accept dogs and if not find an alternative.

Re: NEXT CAMPING MEET - 28/29th June - Choice of venues
Just a suggestion for some time in the future: There is a nice little campsite on the B4228 between Milkwall and Sling on the edge of the Forest of Dean, it is halfway between Wintours Leap and Symonds Yat, has a nice pub with food in easy walking distance and there are a number of quarries in the F...

Re: 21st-23rd March: Newlands Valley Meet
I'm repeating this here for the benefit of those thinking of Shepherds Crag: My Lakes friends report that the Borrodale road is now open to single lane traffic with traffic light control.
(Little Cham - lovely top pitch, pity about the lower ones! )

Re: The In Pinn.
Add to that the distance of St Kilda from the mainland means that you are unlikely to Qualify an activation with a handheld VHF radio so you will need to carry a heavier short-wave rig, batteries and a roach-pole mast and it starts to sound like "Mission Impossible" - but these radio guys ...

Re: The In Pinn.
I wish, Vicky! I've never climbed it: I set out to once, but got fed up with the size of the queue, and did the ridge as far as Sgurr a Mhadaidh instead, I wish now I'd gone round the back and done the easy route! The trade route was horribly polished forty years ago, Heaven knows what it is like no...

Re: The In Pinn.
Lovely pictures, Malc, just what I need, thanks very much. This will cause a bit of a stir after I show them pictures of ham radio set-ups on top of grassy summits like the Long Mynd!

The In Pinn.
In a couple of weeks time I am giving a talk about SOTA to the Wythall Amateur Radio Club. I will be showing them photos of various SOTA summits, and just to raise a smile I would like to show them a photo of the In Pinn: as the only UK SOTA summit that is also a rock climb it is the far end of the ...

Road closure in Borrodale.
This has just been posted on the SOTA site as it affects access to Dale Head and Robinson. I'm repeating it here as it affects access to Shepherd's etc. The minor road under Catbells remains open but care with parking will be needed! http://www.ukclimbing.com/news/item.php?id=68705 Cheers and beers!...
Re: Meets
Thanks, Simon. I am trying to organise a week in May and thought it would be neat if I could have it start or finish with a Meet!

Meets
Please could the meets calendar be updated as much as possible? I realise that some dates might not be finalised yet but I am in the throes of trying to organise some activities in the year ahead and this info would be useful!
