Mercians - I'm running a poll to see where people who like next year's, New Year meet to be held, and guidance would be very helpful.

I've added the lakes as an option, but it's un-cast everyone's votes! People may want to vote again!

Somewhere closer than Scotland - my vote would be the Lakes

I have voted for Snowdonia or Devon/Cornwall. I reason that if the weather is poor there will be sea cliffs or low level crags for the climbers, and plenty for the walkers, too...and better pubs!
Only in silence the word, only in dark the light, only in dying life: bright the hawks flight in the empty sky.

I would favor Cornwall,
Can we find a hut there?
I think the Count House do not let it to other clubs.

Scotland if there is large quantities of snow/ice

Damn, a bit late in commenting on this, but I'm a scotland too, we'll def get snow this time round!! Even with a bit of rain it was good fun last time. Also, if its snowing on the day home next time, i'd consider driving back v late on the 1st, after the millions of 20mph muppets have finally left the roads!
