Patterdale Meet COOKING

Post by RolandNClarke »

Dear Rab,

I am thinking about bringing a cook in the oven meal for myself.
Will you be using the ovens to prepare your food?

Live dangerously Roland, have the curry!
Or maybe it would be better to bring something microwaveable.

Patterdale Food

Post by RolandNClarke »

Dear Malcom,

I dislike any curry and it gives me digestive problems.

Apart from that I hope to enjoy the weekend and do not want to spoil it trying to eat curry.

Weather permitting, I'd be keen to walk from the hut to St Sunday's Crag (4 miles-ish) for a romp up Pinnacle Ridge. It's a grade 3 scramble, but I've heard most pitch a small crux section so perhaps harness, a half rope and a very lean rack wouldn't be a bad idea. I know many have done this route before but if like me you haven't it could be fun. Sunday looks to be the better weather day at the moment (if you trust the Norweigians).

I did pinnacle ridge last year and it was jolly good fun, so much so that I could be tempted to do it again. We carried on over to Fairfield and back down again for a great full day. I soloed the ridge but a couple of people wanted a rope so depends on how confident you are and whether the rock is slippy.

any other plans assuming it's not really rock climbing weather?
