High House, Seatoller, 6 - 8 Feb 15

Post by Jules »

Hi Everyone

This meet is now open for booking. We haven't stayed in High House, Seathwaite for a while but it's a well set up hut in a great location in the Borrowdale valley. Hopefully the weather will give us some good winter conditions for climbing, scrambling and walking.

Location: High House, Seathwaite (owned by K Fellfarers MC). Directions at this link http://www.highhouse.talktalk.net/ff.htm

Cost: £9 pppn

Spaces: 26 available in 2 dorms. (As per all meets, 2 of these spaces are reserved for potential members, members have priority on all other spaces).

Key details: I will give this to Roland on Thursday

Firewood: Firewood is provided but there is no guarantee there will be matches and firelighters so if you have some already, please bring.

Myself and Harriet would like to attend.

This cold spell is bringing on the winter climbing conditions, and the hut is perfectly placed for the reliable winter venue of Great End. Anyone wanting to climb should be suitably kitted out. Anyone without winter kit should post a request, since I'm sure there is spare stuff around.

Tom,

I've climbed it twice now (one of which was soloed), and it's really really good. See the attached photos. It's not hard, and looks cool. I would defo take the variation finish opposite the window, since it's a bit steeper. But get on it early, since Great End gets mobbed.

It will depend on what the weather is like for me. I'll definitely be taking my axes and crampons though.

Is it ok to take a bunk only for Saturday night? Please add me if it is (walking and scrambling, possibly sledging)
