Easter Meet, Lagangarbh, Glencoe - 2nd - 6th April

Post by Jules »

Hello folks

Following the signing up on thursday at the pub, this meet is booked up as below.

The meet is in Lagangarbh Hut, Glencoe, Scotland near Glencoe (http://www.smc.org.uk/huts/lagangarbh), the perfect location for climbing, walking, or skiing (not sure if the winter conditions will hold out until the first week in April but you never know).

All 20 spaces are booked for: Fri 3, Sat 4, Sun 5 April. I've booked additional spaces for the night of Thur 2nd for those that requested at the pub. Let me know in good time if more are required.

To those who have enquired about availability on the Monday, there are spaces free, no need to book so there is flexibility for people to stay the extra night if the weather is good.

Cost is £11 per night.

Food* - I have tried and failed to post a table onto the forum, so, chefs, I'm afraid you will have to click the link to the attachment to see who is signed up for what food. Keep posting on the forum if you would like to be included in the food options, and I will keep the document up to date. Thanks to the cooking volunteers!

Looking forward

Julie

I am willing to cook what I call "Lagangarbh Afghan Curry" (a short story; can be told on the night) on the Friday night with rice and perhaps a nan or two. Those of you who came to the Roaches meet 2 years back will remember it - it's a medium vegetarian curry made with coconut milk, apples, apricots and chick peas. Who wants in?

curry for me please Stew!

I'll do ham in coke, with roast potatoes and other surprise veg on either Sat or Sun. Sounds weird but it's tasty! It'll be free range meat for those of you who are interested.

Let me know if you'd like in on that.

I'm in for curry, ham and anything else that's being offered up. Looking forward to it! PS the ham in coke is lovely.

Tom, what's your forfeit if your snow predictions turn out to be b0*&%cks? There's a nice cold stream outside the hut...

Is it worth just assuming everyone is in for food and only commenting if you're not for any reason? I plan on making strudel for 20 whatever happens.

Good idea Tom (though chefs count me in for all food anyway!). I will also offer a bread and butter pudding with custard one night.
