Hello Mercians
For your camping pleasure we have a trip back in time to July 1940. As Geoff will tell you (he was 25 at the time) this was a time of great prosperity and happiness, and it will be a pleasure to revisit those heady days.
For anybody who doesn't believe that, you can also go camping, without the threat of Nazi invasion.
6 places have been booked at Philpin Farm, 4 miles north east of Ingelton. More can be booked if required. £6 per night.

The campsite is just off the B6255 Ingleton to Hawes Road. Just after the old school and 50 yards before the Old Hill Inn, turn over cattle grid onto Philpin Lane. The site is 250m along on the right - look out for the brown campsite sign at the end of the lane.

Re: Ingelton 1-3 July 1940
Ned and I will come up that way for Sat afternoon and Sunday (Ned has to work Sat morn), so can we just camp Sat eve?
We'll be heading to Twistleton Scars as we're going to be writing up that area for a new guidebook, so if you want to have your pic in a shiny new guide come join us - looks like its only a mile from the campsite!

Vic and I are thinking Twistleton on Saturday (could do Sunday too if there's enough to go at). We had a great day there at last year's annual dinner meet.

See if you can get a photo on that "E2" Stew!
I'm at Hanbury Countryside Show this weekend, otherwise I'd be there
