Gower mark II, 26-28 July

Post by VickyHiggs »

Alright Mercians,

There's another meet coming up! As nobody made it there last time we thought we would try and aim for the Gower again.

Head for Hillend Campsite (http://hillendcamping.com/) - no need to book, you can just rock up. Apparently they have space for around 300 tents so they should be able to squeeze us in! Great location right on Rhossili beach with a multitude of climbing, walking, surfing and sand castle building options in the vicinity. 20 min walk to the pub for dining options or there is a cafe and shop on site.

Neither of your wonderful Meets Secretaries can make this time (sad face) so it's over to you guys to go wild and organise yourselves.

I’m good for this meet and have already grabbed the brand New South Wales Sports climbing Rockfax from the club library. There’s plenty within striking distance of the campsite. And trad too.

Yarp, me and L will try to attend. No Dylan as camp site doesn't allow fun!

We are heading there from near Birmingham airport at 5:30 so should be there at a reasonable(-ish) hour. Stay in touch folks regarding where you are pitched.

Looks like it's another of those campsites that charges a noise deposit for groups so I'd suggest you don't announce yourselves as mercians and whoever gets there first just lets the others know which field they are in.

Regrettably, it now looks like Lucy and I will not be attending. I need to head to Liverpool to sort some stuff for my mum. Bummer!

Have a good one,

Karlos
