Tyn Lon Annual Dinner 4-6th October

It's time to pack your gladrags as well as your boots as it's time for the Annual Dinner meet!

We are staying in Tyn Lon, Nantperis. For those of you who don't know this hut, it's nestled in between the Llanberis pass and the Vaynol Arms pub, i.e. a perfect location!

Climb, hike, bike, run, whatever to your heart's content on Saturday, then Saturday evening we are booked into an Italian restaurant in Llanberis to do what Mercians do best; eat, drink and be merry! https://www.galltyglyn.com/bwydlen-menu

12 places in the hut, first come first served. They are however allowing any extras to camp in the garden, which is rather spacious so should be plenty of room for everyone!

please be aware that there are road closures in place on the Nant Peris side of the Pass. However, the road will be open after 6pm on the Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. So, unless you intend to arrive during the day, you should be fine.

YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass tells us....

“Dear guests,

The A4086 will be closed between the hostel and Cromlech boulders (North-bound) from 26th September.

This is the road that takes you down to Nant Peris, Llanberis, Bangor & Caernarfon.

The road will be back to normal from 12th October.

If you are arriving during one of the closure days and before 6pm, you should do so by approaching from Capel Curig or Beddgelert.

Please find exact details of the road closure below as the level of closure varies day to day.”

There's an outdoor gear sale on Sunday morning, at the Padarn Hotel in Llanberis. Event is in aid of Mountain Rescue Llanberis.

On Friday I plan to leave Rugby at about 3pm. Stop in Betws-y-Coed for a meal. I should be at the hut at about 7:30 pm

I'm gonna get the train down from Edinburgh... is anyone able to pick me up from a station on their way on Friday night? I can stop in Chester, Wrexham, Shrewsbury or Warrington. Thank you!!
