Peaks Camping - 9-11 Oct

Post by Adam »

Hello Mercians

Now the weather has turned cold, wet and windy, its time to go camping. Yay.

We will be staying at Dale Farm campsite near Great Longstone (near Monsal Head).
Hike - the Monsal trail to bakewell, for a right nice tart.
Bike - over the tops to Froggatt Edge.
Climb - at Curbar, if you can get off the ground.

Bookings to be made through their (incoherent) website in groups of up to 4 people.

I'll attach all the Health and Safety bol... worth while admin later.

Great I'm interested, is there an etiquette to booking in terms of numbers or should I just book on individually?

I’ll come and celebrate my birthday with you.
I see from the website you have to book a minimum of three nights at a weekend.

Hello Campers

I have attached the H&S paperwork to the original post. You must read these thoroughly, cover to cover, as they will give you a shielding aura that corona virus can not penetrate.

Cheers

Vic and I are most likely coming too. Just need to take a deep breath and try to book. Looks dry, even sunny on Sunday. I’ll pack my rack in the hope of some easy trad.

It looks like the camp site is full for the Saturday night. Have people booked already, is it possible to double up tents on pitches? If not I'll look at other sites near by. Andy

I doubt it Andy as they seem very rules orientated but youd be welcome to share ours if they'll let you. Maybe ring up as they dont seem to respond to emails. Its booked under my name.

There was an option to add extra tents to a pitch (that I ignored at the time). Let me know Andy and I can enquire if it is still possible

I will need this too if fully booked. Was that not the point of multi person pitches? Are people bringing bikes, i will bring my climbing stuff too?

Re: bike my preference is to climb one day and maybe bike another. I'll see what the forecast is like a little nearer the time.
