Anglesey 26-29 May

Post by Adam »

Hello Mercians

For the third bank holiday this month, we will be going to Anglesey. Home of the precipitous peak that is Holyhead Mountain, at a lofty 220m. Its also home to Dream of White Horses, ice cream and guaranteed sunshine. What more could you want.

If you want in (which you obiously do), sign up here. Karl is managing a group booking at a basic campsite at the north end with a cold shower / toilet / wash basin. There's a whatsapp group for it already which we can add you to. The location google pin is in the group description.

Cheers
Adam

We're intending on going.

Campsite is £84 for 3 nights, irrespective of whether there are 1, 2, 3 or 4 people in a tent. Only one tent per pitch.

I was planning on going but I need to get over the cost now 😳

Their T&Cs say no group bookings and to arrive by 8pm, are they expecting us?

I wondered about this too but it also says to let them know if you'll be late and, given the overall makeup of our 'group' it should be fine. It is unlikely that we're 'expected' though so an element of discretion is probably advisable.

On cost, it is £84 for a pitch for 3 nights. If there's 2 of you in a tent that works out at £14pppn, which feels more reasonable than £28 pn for a single person. No, it doesn't seem fair.

Sign me up too please. The pricing set up seems to be the same for any camping on Anglesea. I guess to encourage families and discourage groups.

2 to a bigger tent might be the way

Lucy and I will be attending.

Well be there at a reasonable hour on the Fri as WFV.

Note the 9pm curfew for noise, well have to be careful not to offend the owner, I've read he kicks folk out! Kill joy!
