Google reports that the White Lion is “permanently closed”. The phone is not answered.

*****UPDATE*****

We now have 22 bed spaces in the hut. The original post has been updated to reflect this.

Also for the camper van people, the hut rules say 'do not camp around the back of the hut' and the front does not belong to the hut. There is a campsite down the lane at the side of the hut.

We have always known that the area in front of the hut does not belong to the hut and you should avoid parking there. I have stayed at the Starkey Hut very many times in our campervan, sometimes sleeping in the hut, sometimes in the van, NOT “camping”. “Camping” behaviour implies cooking, awnings, chairs, BBQs. Staying and sleeping overnight is not Camping. There is no justification for the hut owners to ban certain types of vehicles and tell them to they have to find a camp site.

Hi Adam
Naomi, Dave and myself are staying at the Gillside bunkhouse, can you please take us off the hut numbers.

For the reserves, I think there's space left at the bunkhouse, easy walk to the Inn on the Lake

Thanks Jules, I've booked into that bunkhouse too.

They said there's now 5 in the room with 7 beds, so I assume someone else has too!

On a similar vein, if you only use the back door of your house, and keep the curtains closed, you don't have to pay council tax

Amandeep, Sunny, Nima - are you booked into the bunkhouse? So that the reserves know if they're on the meet
